A replacement 302ci V8 was also installed and fitted with an Edelbrock carburetor, intake manifold, and aluminum cylinder heads. The three-speed manual transmission and dual-range transfer case were rebuilt and a custom dual exhaust system with short-tube headers was installed. Additional equipment includes front disc brakes, a roll bar, limited-slip front and rear differentials, an auxiliary fuel tank, 15″ American Racing wheels, locking front hubs, power steering, a removable hardtop, a Kenwood CD stereo, and a cabin heater. Finished from the factory in Tampico Yellow, the truck was repainted in 2006 in green and black with an airbrushed bucking bronco on the hood. Rust repairs were performed at that time and the tailgate, rocker panels, left floor pan, upper cowl panels, and front door posts were replaced. A replacement windshield and rear glass were also installed in addition to aftermarket steel bumpers and a replacement wiper motor, weatherstripping, mirrors, and door handles. The 15″ American Racing wheels are mounted with Firestone Destination tires measuring 235/75. The truck is equipped with Warn manually locking front hubs, and stopping power is provided by front discs and rear drums. The truck came equipped from the factory with power steering. KYB shocks have been installed, and the suspension and brakes were overhauled during the refurbishment.
