Subsequent refurbishment work involved stripping the body to bare metal and repainting it in black, reupholstering the interior, and rebuilding the 1. 9-liter inline-four and three-speed manual transaxle. Equipment includes metric steel wheels, rack-and-pinion steering, torsion-bar suspension, and front-wheel-drive with homokinetic drive axles. The car was dismantled and the steel unibody was stripped to bare metal before a repaint in black during the aforementioned refurbishment. Exterior details include a louvered hood, a tilt-out windshield, coach front doors, and aluminum stone guards. Cream-finished 400mm steel wheels have chrome center caps and are mounted with 165-series Michelin X tires. The torsion-bar suspension features independent front wishbones and rear trailing arms linked to a beam axle and a panhard bar. The car is equipped with rack-and-pinion steering, and braking is handled by four-wheel drums that were overhauled in 2013. Sound-deadening material was added to the cabin floors and inner doors before the interior was retrimmed in gray vinyl and cloth.
