Power is provided by a fuel-injected 2. 0L flat-four mated to a five-speed manual transaxle, and additional equipment includes front fog lights, Euro-style taillights, an Alpine cassette player, and a Bursch exhaust system. After the Porsche 914 was discontinued and before the 924 became available, the 912E was offered for the 1976 model year only as a lower-priced alternative to the 911. Exterior features include front fog lights, Euro taillight lenses, and “sugar scoop” headlight rings.
