Work was completed in 2001 and included installation of a 302ci Ford V8 and an independent front suspension setup as well as repainting the car in turquoise. Additional highlights of the build include front disc brakes, a louvered hood, LED lighting, a four-speed automatic overdrive transmission, and a â65 Ford Mustang 8â³ rear end with a 3. 54:1 final drive. The interior is upholstered in ivory leather and features bucket seats, a tilt steering column, a Lokar shifter, and Ford-branded AutoMeter instrumentation. The body was painted turquoise during the build and features chrome bumpers moved in 2â³ closer as well as a hood with louvers added by Kent Fuller, an electrically operated cowl vent, a single-piece windshield, shaved door handles, a window-mounted third brake light, a custom rear license plate surround, LED chevron taillights,and a shaved decklid with a Cadillac-sourced power closing mechanism. Chrome 15â³ wheels wear matching hubcaps and are mounted with Hercules radial tires in a âbig-and-littleâ setup. The independent front suspension setup is from Heidts and features rack-and-pinion steering along with coilovers. The 1965 Ford Mustang-sourced rear axle is equipped with parallel leaf springs and Bilstein shocks. Stopping power is provided by power-assisted front discs and rear drums with a dual-circuit master cylinder. The cabin features bucket seats trimmed in ivory leather with a color-matched Naugahyde headliner, rear bulkhead, and door panels.
