Work involved repairing and replacing metal body panels, refinishing the body in white, and re-trimming the interior in red vinyl as well as overhauling the 1. 6-liter inline-four, the four-speed manual transmission, and hydraulic brake system. Additional equipment includes 14″ Shelby Viper wheels, front disc brakes, a PerTronix ignition, and a three-row aluminum radiator along with driving lights, a black soft top, and a push-button AM radio. During the refurbishment, the body was removed from the frame and stripped to bare metal, a rocker panel was replaced, and further bodywork was performed before being painted in white. The chrome trim was refinished, a later-model windshield frame was retrofitted, and Everwing wipers were added along with a replacement windshield washer fluid container. A Stayfast black soft top and tonneau cover were also added, and additional exterior details include a fender-mounted left-side mirror, driving lights, and twin exhaust outlets. The four-spoke 14″ Shelby Viper wheels with polished lips are mounted with 175/65 Westlake Radial SP06 tires. The front disc and rear drum brakes were overhauled along with the hydraulic system during the refurbishment. The brakes are noted to be stiff when cold and the front tie rod dust covers need to be replaced. The low-back bucket seats were re-trimmed in red vinyl, at which time the seat frame bases were rebuilt, and holes in the footwells and cracks in the trunk were repaired.
