This Ford-style roadster street rod was built at Allowayâs Hot Rod Shop in Louisville, Tennessee, utilizing a Ratâs Glass Speedstar fiberglass body mounted to a fabricated steel chassis. Finished in metallic orange, the car is powered by a 302ci Ford V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission and a Currie rear end. Additional equipment includes a Heidtâs independent front suspension, a four-link rear setup, adjustable coilovers, and 17â and 20â Boyd Coddington wheels. The interior is trimmed in tan upholstery and outfitted with a Lokar shifter, a Lecarra steering wheel, and Classic Instruments gauges. Drawing inspiration from the â33 Ford roadster, the Speedstar fiberglass body was designed and produced by Ratâs Glass in Wareham, Massachusetts, before the companyâs acquisition by Factory Five Racing. This car was assembled at Allowayâs, where it was mounted to a custom-fabricated steel chassis and finished in Prowler Orange with tan pinstriping. Exterior details include an aluminum grille insert, an LED strip taillight, and a rear license plate frame that retracts when the ignition is turned off. Scuffed paint on the underside of the grille surround is shown up close in the gallery. Boyd Coddington 17â front and 20â rear wheels are mounted with older BFGoodrich g-Force T/A tires. The Heidtâs independent front suspension assembly features chrome control arms, rack-and-pinion steering, Aldan adjustable coilovers, and disc brakes with slotted rotors.
