The engine is a 1964 283 cu in V8. It was rebuilt about 15 years ago. It has a â57 dual quad intake manifold with two matched, rebuilt (not original Corvette) WCFB four barrel carburetors with correct Corvette dual quad linkage. There is a modern aluminum radiator and an alternator. It has ceramic coated Hedman headers and Walker mufflers. The motor does leak a bit of oil at the rear crank seal. The transmission is an â87 Camaro Z28 T5 5 speed, the rear end is a â55 3.50 pumpkin. Fuel supply is by an electronic fuel pump, the fuel tank (new) was installed in 2015. The top (not power) and interior are in good condition, the top has a small tear on the driverâs side; the interior is correct â56 pattern and color (Venetian Red). The paint is ok, not great. There are scratches, dings, and cracks accrued during about 8000 miles of driving. There is a narrow crack at the junction of the front fender and the rocker panel suture. The car polishes ok and is currently of good driver quality. The stainless is good, the chrome is fair to good; no dents, scrapes, or cracks. The trunk area needs attention, there is a spare tire. The glass is very good, but like most C1 Corvettes, the windows and windshield leak in heavy weather.Everything works except the directional lights, probably an issue with the mechanism in the steering hub. Brake lights work fine. All driving lights work fine including Dietz driving lights. Heater is aftermarket, there are no defrosters. Speedo is a VDO electronic, actual â56 tach has been converted to electric. The gauges are all vintage Corvette, ammeter has been replaced with a new replacement voltmeter. No clock. Wipers are modern âRain Gearâ and work great. The wheels are Wheel Vintique 16X6 rallye style.Extensive documentation and Corvette literature. Why spend $20,000 for a rat, unrestored beat up body with few parts. This car could be a platform for a fine cruiser.
