1966 Ford Galaxie 500XL 2dr. Hardtop Special Order Paint Original Documentation!!!     Here we have a very special find, a 1966 Ford Galaxie 500XL original California, one family ownership most of its life, original sales documents and service history from day one, Special Order paint (Sapphire Blue) with only 89,500 original miles!   This car was originally purchased in November 1965 from Dunton Ford, Santa Ana CA. and ordered with Special order paint Sapphire Blue which was not available on the Galaxie in 1966, the original data plate shows no paint code and the original window sticker shows the Special paint and the original sales documents show it to be Sapphire Blue (see pics). The original California owner kept amazing records from every service to flat tire receipts. A box full of Docs is included. In 1999 the original owner passed and left the car to his daughter-in-law and was kept in storage until a few years ago. This car is all numbers matching 352 4V Special Thunderbird big block, Automatic trans and 9" differential.  The following is a list of what has been done in the last few years to bring the car back to life and ready to drive without issue. New fuel tank, fuel pump, carburetor rebuild, belts, hoses, plugs, wires, points, battery and a light engine detail. New tires, brake hoses and brakes. This car starts immediately with a twist of the key and settles into a smooth idle. Â
