It is 40 years young!Lovely gearbox, stops well. Really keeps up with all traffic w the biggest engine, the 1.3 liter (1275cc).It is ridiculously cute, especially w the nice original hounds tooth, psychedelic upholstery. It is very MOD.It goes around corners like a roller coaster!!!!Great investment as one of the lowest mileage Classic Mini's.I have a letter from the original owner in England verify the miles when she sold it.Vin could not be recognized by ebay software.it is: SAXXNYADBBD046313 See the pictures.Beautiful car, low miles, serviced, drives great, new sparkplugs. It still has the original water shield for the distributor, and the cover for the battery in the trunk as well. Original hubcaps are in the trunk. One of the problems with these mechanical fuelpump cars, is you have to crank the starer alot to drive the fuel pump to fill the carb to get it to start. This wears out starters. The Mini still drives on the mechanical fuelpump, but I added a 12 volt electric fuelpump, to only come on when you put it in reverse. I used the reverse light wiring to turn on the pump. To start it from cold or after sitting for a few days-weeks-months, you turn on the key, put it in reverse (you can hear the fuel pump run) for ten seconds, take it out of reverse, and it fires up with the twitch of the key in start position!!!!! Sometimes you may have to use the choke knob as usual.. especially cooler weather.
