This car was parked in late 1985 and rested for 38 years before I undertook this project.Roger Ausley himself also verified that it was a REAL SS. The original emblems and SS dash gauges as well as other SS related items that are original to the car will be included. WHAT I HAD DONE IN REGARD TO THE REBUILDI wanted the Chevelle to appear as it did when it rolled off the assembly line in April of 1972. This to include the factory color code 75 Cranberry Red with Black Vinyl top, door edge guards, functioning cowl induction system and all brake and suspension parts to be OEM style. Only exceptions were upgraded factory gauges, bucket seats and spruced up the 402 engine with factory style chrome valve covers, Edelbrock Performer 2.0 intake and Comp camshaft. I included upgraded factory sway bar front is now 1 1/4" and the rear sway bar is now a 1" bar.The 402 was completely rebuilt. it currently only has 475 miles on it and runs very well. It is NOT the original engine it is a 1971 402 so it is non-matching. It may need some future adjustments or fine tuning as everything breaks in, but as of now it drives and stops very nice. The transmission is M20 Muncie 4 speed with all new clutch components and BRAND NEW driveshaft. It has a Muncie 4 speed shifter lever with the GM style shift linkage with reverse lock out rod. Just as the factory installed. 12 bolt Posi traction rear axle with 3:31 ratio. F41 HEAVY DUTY SUSPENSION. All new steering components, shocks, rear springs. All of the brakes are brand new from the master cylinder to the shoes, pads, rotors, calipers, drums, brake lines etc. power steering - power disc brakes. All glass original to the car (glass does show itâs age) with exception of the windshield which is new. Complete brand new interior.Way too much done to this car to list, but it has been gone thru top and bottom and is extremely detailed.Â
