Work in the last two years has included rebuilding the flat-four to 2. 3-liters, adding a throttle body injection system with a standalone ECM, and replacing the clutch, as well as installing a custom exhaust system, an external oil cooler, Bilstein sport shocks, 21mm and 27mm torsion bars, Turbo tie rods, and a bump steer kit. The car is finished in Guards Red over black leather and Pepita fabric upholstery, and equipment includes a five-speed manual transaxle, 911R-style taillights, LED headlights, a MOMO steering wheel, later-model front seats, an aftermarket stereo, a WEVO shifter, a sunroof, and 16â³ Fuchs wheels. After the Porsche 914 was discontinued, the 912E was offered for the 1976 model year only as a lower-priced alternative to the 911. A Sonderworks rear reflector panel and 911R-style taillights have been added along with 9Haus LED headlights and red Porsche stripe graphics. The rocker moldings have been removed, though their mounting holes remain. A body-color plug has been fitted in place of the antenna. The 16â³ Fuchs wheels were mounted with 205/55 BFGoodrich Control A/S tires in February 2024. A space-saver spare is stored in the front trunk. Stopping power is provided by disc brakes at all four corners, and the brake master cylinder was replaced in 2016.
