Year: 1950s Make: Allard Model:P1 The car subsequently underwent refurbishment work including a repaint in two-tone gray and blue, and it has been on display at the Tampa Bay Automobile Museum since the mid-2000s. It is powered by a 221ci Ford flathead V8 paired with a column-shifted three-speed manual transmission, and equipment includes 16″ steel wheels, drum brakes, driving lamps, trafficators, and rear-hinged doors. Inside, bench seating re-trimmed in red leather is accompanied by a Bluemel’s Brooklands steering wheel and Smiths instrumentation. Sydney Allard began his company by building lightweight pre-war specials with American V8 powerplants, competing at Le Mans and winning the Monte Carlo Rally with a P1 saloon in 1952. Exterior details include a chrome grille and bumpers with overriders as well as driving lamps, trafficators, fender-mounted side mirrors, rear-hinged doors, and a single exhaust outlet. Gray-painted 16″ wheels wear bright Allard-branded hubcaps and are mounted with 6. 00/6. 50″ Michelin Superconfort tires. Suspension is comprised of a divided front axle with coil springs and a live rear axle with a traverse leaf spring. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel drum brakes.
