The 327ci V8 was overhauled in 2003, at which point a revised camshaft, cylinder heads, lifters, and intake manifold were installed, the water pump, exhaust manifolds, and timing set were replaced, and the engine was resealed. A four-speed manual transmission sends power to the rear wheels, and the car rides on red-finished 15â³ steel wheels with simulated knock-off covers and Firestone white-stripe tires. Additional equipment includes an Edelbrock carburetor, a Hurst shifter, a dual exhaust system, red vinyl cabin upholstery, and a Wonder Bar AM radio. The car was refurbished in 2003, which included stripping the fiberglass body before repainting it in red with a matching hardtop and coves. Further details include a white soft top, quad headlights, and polished bumpers and trim. Photos taken during the repaint are provided in the gallery. The 15â³ steel wheels feature simulated knock-off spinner covers and are mounted with Firestone white-stripe tires. A matching spare is stowed in the trunk. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel drums. The two bucket seats are upholstered in red vinyl and joined by a color-coordinated dashboard, door panels, and carpets.
